Kim Kardashian’s Pregnancy Scare: Can You Avoid a Similar Experience?
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, celebrity Kim Kardashian was rushed to the hospital earlier this week when she thought she was experiencing a miscarriage.
Apparently Kim had been traveling in Paris with Kanye West and fell ill immediately upon returning home to Los Angeles. Sources told the Post that pregnant Kim has been working too hard and exercising too often.
Only her doctor knows if her miscarriage scare was caused by too much travel or work or partying. But it’s an important reminder for all pregnant women: take it easy! if you’re pregnant and need to travel or be on your feet a lot, keep these tips in mind to keep you and your baby health:
–Recognize your limits. It is fine to exercise during pregnancy, but get your workout routine approved by your doctor. Remember that you may not be able to do everything you were able to do before you got pregnant, and take frequent rest and water breaks.
–Stay hydrated. Getting enough water is essential for maintaining a healthy pregnancy and preventing early labor. This is especially important while traveling, as airplane travel can be extremely dehydrating.
–Travel safely. If you need to travel while pregnant, make sure you don’t stay sedentary in a plane or car for too long. Position yourself in an aisle seat on a plane so you can stretch your legs and get to the bathroom frequently. If you travel far, know where the local hospitals are and if possible, have the name of a recommended local obstetrician on hand.
