Mom Arrested after Driving and Texting While Holding Infant Daughter
A woman in California has recently been arrested for child endangerment. She was pulled over for texting while driving but what’s worse is that she was holding her infant daughter in her lap at the time. Adding insult to injury, there were two other children in the back seat with no safety harness or car seat to protect them. Seriously, what was this woman thinking?? Later, it was discovered one of the children in the back seat was not hers!
Shawndeeia Bowen, 29, was… “charged with three counts of child endangerment, two counts of violating a court order and one each of driving without a license and driving on a suspended license” according to police records. Her statement was that she had recently pulled her infant from the back seat to feed and soothe them but to hold them and start driving?? Then TEXT?!! Clearly, safety was not a thought in her mind.
She currently under investigation and her children are under the care of the CPS. She has 6 children.
oh, and did I mention… DMV records also show that Bowen has been previously cited for several road violations, including driving without insurance or a license plate, not wearing a seat belt or restraining her children, two traffic collisions and not appearing in court nine times, according to KTLA news.
Here’s the video.Â
If she is convicted, she could face up to 5 years in prison.
Does this mother deserve to have her children back in her custody?
