Woman Endures 75 Days of Upside Down Labor
Wow doesn’t begin to explain the super momma feats accomplished by one woman in Warsaw, Poland. Joanna Krzysztonek safely delivered twins after hanging upside down in labor for 75 days.
Krzysztonek was actually pregnant with triplets when one of the babies was born prematurely and died.
At that point Krzysztonek was medically considered to be in labor – however, doctors hoped to save the remaining 2 babies from delivering prematurely by having Krzysztonek sustain an upside-down position to stop her contractions.
“I sighed with relief that there was a chance to keep the pregnancy and to give the babies a chance to be born successfully,” the mom told Rueters.
Krzysztonek made it 75 days before finally giving birth to a twin boy and girl at 32 weeks. The twins are expected to leave the hospital soon and, save for some initial trouble finding her balance, mom is doing fine.
